DescriptionBreathtaking views and the sound of gently lapping waves against the shoreline will help to make your vacation memorable at Making Waves! This unique cottage is situated partially over the water, on piers, which brings an entire new meaning to “living on the lake”.
The home’s driveway entrance is situated next to a small local park. Twelve steps lead down to the landscaped rear of the cottage, with the main entry leading into the first floor foyer. To the right is a charming country kitchen and dining area that seats 6 comfortably. To the left is the spacious living room, with an L-shaped sectional sofa and TV/DVD for entertainment. A screen porch off the living room creates a beautiful outdoor dining experience during the warmer months.
The stairs off the foyer lead up to the second floor, where the bedrooms and bathrooms are located. At the top of the stairs off the hallway is a half bath. An additional full bathroom with shower/tub combo is located inside the master suite at the north end of the hall (no hallway access). In the rear to the right of the stairs is a bedroom with two Twin Size beds, and another bedroom with a Double bed and partial lake view is just across the hall. The master suite features a wall of windows facing east to accentuate the spectacular lake view, and a Queen Size and Single bed are located on the north and south ends of the bedroom to afford plenty of space to move around.
The door off the side of the living room leads out onto the dock and natural lakefront. A boat hoist is available, as well as non motorized watercraft for guests to enjoy! The lakefront features a shale bottom with gradual depth; ideal for small children, and a fire pit on the beach to use for small campfires and roasting marshmallows.
Located just 5 miles from Penn Yan, Making Waves is nearby to Penn Yan’s shopping, restaurants, and other conveniences. Situated in the middle of the west side of Seneca Lake, this cottage allows guests to enjoy equally short drives to Watkins Glen and Geneva, and of course 20+ wineries along the way!
