Cayuga (Native American for "Boat Landing")
Cayuga Lake is the longest of western New York's glacial Finger Lakes, and is the second largest in surface area. Cayuga Lake is just less than 40 miles long. Cayuga Lake is also very popular among recreational boaters since the state marina and boat launch is located at the southern end of the lake.

DescriptionCome and relax at the private retreat provided by this unique lakefront home. Located at the water's edge at a bend in the lake, The Point is located on 1.4 acres of flat land, and features an amazing 650 feet of lakefront with no cliffs or stairs to the lake. The house faces 270 degree lake views, plus a private cove to the north/back of the house adds to the feeling of being on an island, right in the center of Cayuga Lake!
Entering the property on the gravel driveway, you will reach the convenient gravel parking area. Cross the wide level lawn, take 2 steps up on to a wooden deck at the front of the house and pause a moment to take in the incomparable lake views. The front door opens into an open floor plan kitchen/dining area. One door opens from the dining area into a utility room with a full size washer/dryer; another leads to a bedroom with a queen bed. A kitchen island provides a spot to sit and chat while preparing a meal. Turning right from the dining area, you will see a short hallway leading to the spacious living room. The half bathroom is just off of this hallway. Both the living room and kitchen have panoramic windows facing southwest overlooking the lake. Just off the living room is a full bath, and two bedrooms (one bedroom with a king bed, one bedroom with a queen and a twin). All three bedrooms have windows that overlook the private cove to the north of the house; great for wildlife viewing throughout the year. Recently updated decor features a comfort-oriented eclectic style, with regional art adorning the walls - lots of unique touches!
Outside, two firepits provide a place for bonfires, and a propane barbecue is available for grilling. In the warmer months, lounge in the sun or shade with a good book. Dining at the outdoor table with the views across the lake is an opportunity not to be missed!
Enjoy the sunsets across the water, and marvel at the stars overhead as dusk falls. Let the sound of the water against the rocks and the frogs in the back pond lull you to sleep at night. The perfect mix of nature and convenience, the Point is far enough from the hubbub to be relaxing, and still an easy 15 minute drive to Ithaca College and Cornell University, making it an ideal location for tourists and visiting parents/alumni to both colleges. Boats may be launched and a variety of non-motorized watercraft may also be rented at the neighboring marina, just a 5-minute walk away. This property is close to area attractions and ready for guests with a variety of interests!
Please note that boats cannot be tied to the dock. Arrangements for boat storage must be made at adjacent marina. It is highly recommended that arrangements be made in advance!
