Premier Press

Finger Lakes Premier Properties continues to be profiled in national and regional travel guides. Frommer's, which is the largest travel magazine in the United States and Canada, profiled the Finger Lakes as one of the Top Ten Places to Rent a Vacation Home. Their research included discussions with Finger Lakes Premier Properties, a full review of our website (which they rated the best in the Finger Lakes) and photographs of one of the Finger Lakes vacation homes we manage.

In Life in the Finger Lakes, a regional magazine, Finger Lakes Premier Properties provided an overview of the vacation rental industry and gave advice on how best to purchase and rent a vacation home. 2nd Home Journal featured Finger Lakes Premier Properties in an article about owning a vacation home in wine country, and Sherman's Travel announced in 2009 that the Finger Lakes was the top lake resort region in the world. Not to be outdone, Trip Advisor ranked the Finger Lakes as one of the Top Ten Wine Destinations in the world. We are pleased to play an ongoing and lead role in the vacation home industry in the Finger Lakes.

Finger Lakes Vacation Rental Company Launches Campaign to Clean Up the Gulf

Penn Yan, NY July 30th, 2010 Finger Lakes Premier Properties has announced that for every new vacation rental booking, the company will make a contribution to the oil spill clean-up effort in the Gulf. All the money raised will be donated to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL), an organization that has been dedicated to restoring and protecting a sustainable coastal Louisiana for over 20 years. The money raised will go directly towards mitigating the oil spill damage caused to the Gulf region by funding volunteer training and clean-up equipment necessary to preserve the coastal marshland. Second homes: New York's Finger Lakes have shoreline to spare

The Finger Lakes region of central New York is huge. Depending on who defines the borders, it spans 6,000 to 9,000 square miles an area the size of New Jersey.

The region includes 11 namesake lakes, spread like the fingers on two hands. The lakes are a roughly parallel band from Conesus Lake, south of Rochester in the west, to Otisco Lake, near Syracuse in the east. Formed by retreating glaciers, the lakes are narrow, deep and up to 40 miles long, running north to south.

"It's four hours from New York City but a world away in style, with local cops who might put money in your meter rather than a ticket on the windshield," says Katharine Dyson, an area journalist now completing her fourth edition of The Finger Lakes Book, A Complete Guide. "It's a place that has a firm grasp on what's important, like fresh air, farmers markets, little traffic, outdoor concerts and lake water so clear you can see right to the bottom." Read More
