Upon entering A Shore Thing, you will be pleasantly surprised by the welcoming feel of the large four season room. This room provides ample space for enjoying the magnificent views as well as entertaining guests. The custom kitchen offers all the conveniences of home! An indoor grill with industrial exhaust will allow you to prepare gourmet meals with ease all year round. The open layout of the kitchen/dining area and living room allows conversation to flow freely, with a partial wall dividing the living room to increase lighting and ambiance.
Across from the kitchen, guests will find two well appointed bedrooms, both equipped with a queen size bed, and closets. Each bedroom has a flat screen television and ceiling fan to ensure your upmost comfort. Just down the hall is a convenient full bathroom with a double vanity, tub and shower.
Step down a few stairs into the very spacious, north-facing master suite. Large, lakeside windows provide occupants a great view of the lake. Comfort was first in mind while remodeling this spacious suite! Features include a beautiful tile-faced, gas fireplace, 2 spacious closets, a flat screen television, and a sitting area for enjoying a quiet afternoon with a good book. The master bath is immaculate and offers a Jacuzzi tub, heated floor, and attractive design to enhance a relaxing vacation experience.
At the other end of the long hallway is the sunken living room, with vaulted ceilings, featuring another stunning tile fireplace, a flat screen television, and sliding glass doors lead to an outdoor deck with panoramic views of the lake. The entire house is outfitted with a surround sound system controlled in the living room, so bring your iPod and enjoy your favorite music!
A short staircase off the living room leads to the fourth bedroom. This room features a queen sized bed and flat screen television.
One of the great features of this lake house is the spacious game room, which offers a pool table, dartboard, large flat screen TV, and a ping pong table. Screened garage doors are available to offer fresh air for those warm summer days, and during winter months the area is comfortably heated to allow guests to continue to enjoy these additional amenities as well.
The outdoor living space is amazing at A Shore Thing! Newly added in late fall of 2017 is a 6 person hot tub settled on stamped concrete with ample LED lighting for ambiance. The level back yard with patio is perfect for outdoor entertainment and yard games. Be sure to bring your bocce set! Across the road is 100 feet of pristine natural lakefront, as well as a lighted, permanent dock.
A Shore Thing is conveniently located on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Need a shopping day? Be sure to check out Waterloo Premium Outlets! A half hour drive south will lead directly into downtown Ithaca, where guests will find quaint restaurants, great shopping, and breathtaking waterfalls (Taughannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls are only a couple of spectacular waterfalls worth visiting)!

April 2019 Stay

We did a girls trip and absolutely loved the property! The house was so clean and we enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks and fire pit!! We also enjoyed outdoor grilling. The only thing that could be improved, would be adding a half bathroom. I would still come back to this house, we just loved it and our week there!

Amazing property! The house was spotless, beautifully remodeled, with so many amenities. Family and dog friendly, we didn't want our stay to end!

June 2018 Stay

We had a great time and grandchildren had a ball fishing from dock. Also appreciated use of kayaks and paddle boats snd life jackets provided.

Donna W. from Port Royal, PA, 07/19/2018

Great vacation location!

Had a great week. 6 adults and 3 kids. Had plenty of room. Spent most of our time outside on the dock and deck. Excellent dock - kids caught close to 250 panfish from it this week. We also fished from the kayaks and landed a dozen nice pike as well. Saw some big largemouth, but only caught one. Waterfall excursions were well worth the drive and hike. We also recommend Three Brothers winery and brewery and Varick winery which is a mile down the road.

March 2018 Review

Was here with the family for 5 days. Plenty of space, enjoyed the game room, we had movie night, game night and went out bowling. It snowed so we enjoyed time in this fantastic house. We loved waking up to a beautiful view of the lake and we are thinking about a June vacation here, but we'll have to check the rental availability. If you want a great vacation spot, this is it...

August 2017 Stay

Our family really enjoyed our experience with this rental. Roomy and plenty of seating for the seven of us. Had a great time at dock area but make sure you bring water shoes. We rented a boat, went hiking and toured wineries. Only downfall was poor Wi Fi service. All agreed we would return again some day!!!

May 2017 Stay

My extended family was in town for a Cornell graduation. We had a wonderful time at this property! My husband and I rent homes when we travel, so we know what to look for and expect in rental properties. A Shore Thing was extremely clean and equipped with all the necessities when away from home. This spacious home is not only nicely decorated and well maintained inside, but outside as well. We enjoyed the meticulously manicured yard and dock area, including the paddle boat, seating areas and multiple fire pits. The younger ones among us enjoyed the game room, too. Highly recommend this property for your next lake vacation.

Judy S. from Bowie, Maryland, 06/02/2017

The home was clean and well equipped. The area around the home was very nice. Quiet street and safe for young kids. I was concerned about the home only having window unit AC but the home was kept cool despite the 90 degree temp outside. The lake is beautiful and clean and surprisingly some days we were the only ones out there. My adult kids enjoyed the bunk house out back which was also very nice for them.

We stayed at this house while attending my daughter's graduation from Cornell. It was a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. A great place to relax after a exciting but hectic two days full of activities. We were able to host a dinner for her roommates family, which was also quite nice. As a note, we did have two grandparents that have a little trouble with stairs, and we didn't realize how many levels were in the house. We put them on the top floor and everyone got along great. We also loved the game room with the ping pong and pool table. All in all, it was a wonderful house and very comfortable.

We rented this house for a Cornell graduation weekend and couldn't have been happier. It was a beautiful house with plenty of room for all of our family including grandparents. We couldn't have had a lovelier place to relax after full days of activities on campus. We'd love to return sometime be able to spend more time on the water, in the game room & the lovely 4 season room. Just so beautiful!

Susan . from Wexford PA, 05/31/2016

This is such a beautiful setting - the home is spectacular.

Gail . from Flanders NJ, 10/12/2015

Great lake rental! My nephew got married at Taughannock Falls and the reception was at Cayuga State Park. Perfect location and great times with family in from out of town!! This is an excellent rental :)

Mary . from Rochester NY, 09/15/2015

This gorgeous, immaculate house exceeded our expectations! It is very spacious and comfortable. The sun room is the hidden gem since it isn't showcased in the pictures. In this large, beautifully furnished room we spent much time eating, reading, chatting and enjoying the lake view. We loved going over to the lake for fishing, swimming, reading in shade on the lounge chairs or hammock, and the paddle boat was a plus. We would love to return to this house!

Pat . from Webster NY, 08/17/2015

I have stayed at many rental homes in & outside of the finger lakes.. This was one of the best homes I've visited in a long time. Quality of everything in the home was top notch. No expense was spared and it really shows. I was very impressed and everyone in our group had an extremely enjoyable stay. Thanks so much!

Angela . from Milton PA, 06/16/2015

This house was beautiful, clean and was able to comfortably accomodate everyone. We had all ages from toddlers, teens, 20s, 30s, 40s & 50s and there was something for everyone. Everyone loved the game room and the huge porch, paddle boat, a fire and all the TVs. There was enough seating for everyone to sit down for meals and enough room for us all to pile in & watch the game. Wineries are nearby and the view is fantastic. We all loved it!

Laurie . from North Tonowanda NY, 10/20/2014

We had a wonderful stay at A Shore Thing! The house is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The well-equipped kitchen is a dream and the sun deck was perfect for sunrises and games and just relaxing. The game room was great as well. FLPP made our stay here very easy and enjoyable. Would stay here again and highly recommend it to all.

Bob & Diane . from Elizabethtown KY, 10/14/2014

This was our first time renting a vacation home. This home exceeded our expectations. Every picture online was true! This house is gorgeous and very well maintained. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The new rec room was a pleasant addition. We would definitely rent this property again.

Darleen . from North Syracuse NY, 08/25/2014

This house is incredible. It is spacious, comfortable, and exactly what you always hope for when you rent a vacation home. Inside, there is a pool table, ping pong table, TV's in every door, a whole house stereo system, the couch is really comfy and big enough for lots of people and even the kitchen and deck chairs are comfy. The sunroom off the front of the house is the real star, and the perfect place to watch sunsets and sunrises or play games (which are provided). The beds are comfortable as well, and the master suite is fantastic and includes a whirlpool tub! The kitchen is easy to use and all of the things you need are there. The dock has a hammock, two deck lounge chairs and a table and chair set. The beach is rocky, so bring your swim shoes, for sure. There is also a paddle boat! The house is located within a 10 or fewer minute drive to about 20 different wineries and a reasonably sized town with a grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Overall, this house is one in a million. I can't recommend it enough. You won't be sorry you stayed here!

Jen . from Rossford OH, 08/05/2014

Home was perfect for our family for Cornell graduation.

Diana . from Allen Park MI, 05/31/2014

A Shore Thing was an excellent place to stay. If there was any negative at all, it would be that the house is on Rt 89 and the traffic on that road travels very fast. Going for walks was somewhat difficult, but everything else about the stay was just perfect.
