Amazing girls' weekend at the perfect spot!

Four of my childhood friends and I met for our first girls' weekend since we were in high school (we're in our 60s now). Black Dog's Bluff (BDB) was the perfect location! We wanted our gathering to be somewhere special, so we picked this amazing property on Keuka Lake. The house was absolutely immaculate when we arrived. We didn't care about the weather because we knew we'd be happy even if we had to stay inside. Well, our visits on the spacious deck, along with our nighttime chats around the large fire pit, were unexpected additions to our chilly weekend. Peaceful walks on the quiet road were also so enjoyable. The view was too spectacular to stay inside the whole time! We did spend most of our mornings and evenings inside, though, and the large living and dining rooms had more than enough room for us to be very comfortable. The dining room table provided the perfect place to play games. The kitchen was well equipped which was important to us since we made almost every meal at the house. We each had our own comfortable bed to sleep in and had no problem sharing the two full and spotless bathrooms. An added bonus was that we had ample room in the driveway for three cars and would've had room for one or two more if we hadn't carpooled. If we meet for a girls' weekend in the Finger Lakes area again, it will be at BDB. Black Dog's Bluff will not disappoint!

This is a wonderfully spacious home on the beautiful and quiet West Bluff. There is plenty of room for family in this classic Victorian cottage. The deck is a perfect spot to rest and relax and the beachfront is lovely with plenty of room to fish, swim and enjoy a fire at the fire pit.

Black Dog Bluff is a charming, private, lakeside escape. With plenty of room, a great functional kitchen and an elevated deck with a fabulous view you can enjoy Keuka Lake with family and friends. The new washer and dryer were great to have during our two week stay. Being able to bring our yellow lab and cavelier king charles spaniel to join us was ideal. Thanks to the great wi-fi we had what we needed to “work from home” lakeside. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean. We’d recommend this rental for sure.

September 2019 Stay

We rented Black Dog Bluff in September when the temperatures were in the 70’s -80’s during the days and 50-60’s at night, when we slept with open windows. This was our fourth rental at keuka and the lake front was by far the most beautiful with an expansive wade in beach area, dock, firepit, tons of seating and 2 kayaks. The lot was also much more private than our previous rentals. The property is gently sloping from the road to the house and has flagstone steps, and sloping from the house to the water. Our old lab is afraid of stairs and this wasn’t a problem. The interior had been newly painted. The family room was bright with new furnishings. The dining room has an incredible fireplace and antique table. The bedrooms were roomy with a lot of closet space. The kitchen appliances were new, as well as the washer and dryer and bbq. There are three bedrooms on the 2nd floor a king with twin bunks, and 2 more rooms w queens one of which offered a spectacular view of the lake. There was an additional queen bed in the walk out basement area. A clawed tub/shower on the 2nd floor a walk in shower w a much appreciated ceiling heater in the basement bathroom. Two refrigerators for feeding a big group. We would definitely Rent here again. Things to know before u go: They have a new keurig that takes K cups or has a reusable adapter. K cups would be easier. The property has beautiful giant old oaks so be careful where u park in the fall when the acorns are dropping. Park closer to the garage if u are parking on the driveway, and be prepared to sweep off the flagstone steps for safety. The dining room light switch is on the inside of the stair newel. To keep their new HE washing machine fresh leave the door and soap tray ajar. Premier will provide 2 dishwasher pods, laundry detergent for one load, a roll of paper towels, a few kitchen towels, kitchen sponge, small dish soap, extra TP, small hand soaps, and this time a few complimentary kitchen spices, towels and linens. We bring bar shower soap, hand liquid soap for the kitchen sink, misc ziplock bags, foil, coffee (K cups) extra roll of paper towels, dishwasher pods, HE clothes detergent, a few extra dish/drying towels, cooking spices. All food stuff and condiments. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to beautiful Black Dog Bluff. Be prepared to make great memories!
