Description Description

Welcome to Bonskeid House, your dream lake escape! This beautifully appointed 4-bedroom lakefront vacation rental with space for up to 8 guests offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for families and small groups looking to enjoy the best of the Finger Lakes in style. From its serene setting along the shores of Seneca Lake to its thoughtfully designed living spaces, this pet-friendly home invites you to slow down, connect, and soak in the simple joys of lakeside living.

As you arrive, a sense of calm washes over you. Nestled on a quiet stretch of the lake, this beautiful home offers a rare blend of privacy and proximity. You’re just a short drive from local wineries, charming small towns, and outdoor activities, but while you're here, the world feels delightfully distant. The hillside location of this vacation rental offers unobstructed views of the water, framed by trees and sky, and the spacious deck is the perfect place to take it all in. Enjoy family barbeques on hot summer days, a cold beverage while relaxing in one of the Adirondack chairs while you watch the setting sun, or stargaze with your special someone as the night sky sparkles above Seneca Lake.

Step inside and you’ll find an interior that’s just as impressive as the picturesque setting. The home boasts beautiful styling with clean lines, soft textures, and a nature-inspired color palette of blues, grays, and warm neutrals that reflect the water just beyond the windows. The open-concept main living space is flooded with natural light, with large windows that offer panoramic lake views.

The living area is perfect for gatherings, whether you're sipping coffee in the morning, playing board games with the kids in the afternoon, or enjoying a slow, refreshing night after a day on the water. Plush seating surrounds a gas fireplace, adding a cozy touch to cooler evenings, while the adjacent dining area with seating for up to 8 people offers plenty of space to share meals, laughter, and conversation. This Finger Lakes vacation rental is designed to give everyone their own space while still encouraging togetherness. The main floor also features two comfortable queen bedrooms, one off the living area and one just off the kitchen.

The fully equipped kitchen is a cook’s dream, featuring a gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, plenty of counter space, a lake view from the kitchen window, and everything you need to prepare anything from lakeside snacks to full family dinners. The open layout means you’re never far from the action, even while cooking—and that makes meals here feel less like a chore and more like part of the fun.

On the lower level of this lakefront home, you’ll find another living area with a TV and a wet bar, along with two more queen bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Step outside onto the stone patio to enjoy the soothing hot tub, or relax in one of the chairs overlooking the lake. Throughout the home, you’ll find small but thoughtful touches that make your stay more enjoyable. There’s high-speed Wi-Fi if you need to stay connected, cozy throw blankets for chilly evenings, a washer and dryer, and plenty of storage so you can unpack and settle in with ease. It’s these little things, combined with the home’s larger comforts, that help create a truly seamless guest experience.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true lake house without easy access to the water. A gentle path leads down to the shoreline of Seneca Lake, where you can dip your toes in, launch a kayak, sunbathe on the dock, or simply sit and enjoy the sound of the waves lapping the shore. A convenient tram is also available, providing easier lake access when needed. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or fishing, the lake is always just a few steps away. As evening falls, enjoy bonfires in the lakeside fire pit and count shooting stars in the sparkling night sky.

Bonskeid House is located right in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, minutes from a variety of unique dining experiences including Tabora Farm & Winery, Blue Pointe Grille, and Edgar’s at Belhurst Castle. Ten minutes to the south is downtown Watkins Glen with dining and shopping, and Watkins Glen State Park where you can hike the gorge trail, complete with incredible waterfalls. Head twenty minutes north to Geneva, where you’ll find family attractions, the Finger Lakes Visitor Welcome Center, Taste NY Market and numerous restaurants such as The Rabbit Room, Kindred Fare, or Ports Cafe.

Whether you're visiting for a week of wine tasting along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail or Keuka Lake Wine Trail, a family summer vacation, or a peaceful getaway with close friends, this stunning lakeside home offers everything you need to make the most of your time in the Finger Lakes. It’s the kind of place that welcomes you in, makes you feel at home, and leaves you dreaming of your next visit before you’ve even left the driveway!

Amazing Getaway
A lovely vacation! The house was amazing, well equipped for high end cooking and quite spacious. I loved the soaking tub, super relaxing. The view was stunning, offering incredible sunrises. The property was secluded and so quiet, exactly what I needed. Location ideal for visiting local wineries. The only negative was that the fireplace wasn’t working and with the chilly weather and watching Christmas movies, we were disappointed but a quick trip to Walmart for a plug in fireplace solved that. Already booked again for Spring 2026, counting the days!!!

Thank you so much for the 5-star review! We’re thrilled to hear you had a relaxing stay and enjoyed the home’s space, amenities, and stunning views. We're sorry the fireplace wasn’t working during your visit—the valve was turned off because it was unsafe, but it has since been replaced. We truly appreciate your understanding and are so excited you’ve already booked for Spring 2026. We look forward to hosting you very soon.

Spacious Home
Home was very spacious. Decorated beautifully. Kitchen had everything you needed plus more. The lower level was nice for our adult children who liked to stay up late visiting and sleeping in We were close to trout streams for fishing and wineries for tasting. We had a beautiful brunch at Glenora and hiked Watkins Glen. Home is very centrally located. Thank you for sharing your home.

Birthday Weekend
This house was amazing for a group of friends. The view from the house is absolutely outstanding and the elevator to the water was so cool. I personally loved the aesthetics of the house and thought the kitchen was well equipped. Others wrote that they didn’t like the set up of the house having to enter the other bedrooms through the garage but that didn’t bother us whatsoever. We all enjoyed hanging out downstairs and in the hot tub. The house location was perfect as well close to so many wineries. Besides being loud from the septic tank We can’t wait to come back

The location on the lake was amazing! The tram to the lake was so much fun and made maneuvering to lakeside seamless. The house was perfect for six adults and two year old twins! Accessing the lower bedrooms through the garage was a bit odd but worked out

Fabulous property with gorgeous view
Property was fabulous and very clean as advertised. 4 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, with 3 of the 4 facing the lake with great views, and one of the upstairs bedrooms with access to the wrap-around deck. Fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for even a long stay. Plus, with the management company's welcome gift, there was no need to bring anything. Upper level deck with 2 umbrella-covered tables & fantastic view of the lake, a large grill and space for relaxation and meals (breakfast overlooking the lake is marvelous). Under the deck is a patio area with the large hot tub (partially under the deck) & large gravel covered area for eating, etc. 2 living areas, 1 upper & 1 lower, both with TVs (Roku) are very comfortable with plenty of space. There is also a TV in one of the upper bedrooms. The lower level is accessible only through the garage but was not that bad (3 stairs down from the laundry area, then another flight of stairs to the lower level). The lower level can be locked & then must be accessed from the patio area door via a lockbox with a key (contact the management company for code). The property is managed by Finger Lakes Premier Properties (FLPP) & were very responsive for the booking and any other stay-related issues. Be ready to provide a picture ID if this is your 1st stay with FLPP. Plenty of information on the property and the stay were provided immediately following the booking with the door access code arrived a week prior to stay.

Long Weekend trip
The house was very private and seemed very secluded. Many deer were seen on the drive down the long driveway. The kitchen was nicely stocked and had everything you need to cook and entertain. The bedrooms were comfortable. The downstairs' bedrooms were nice for our family with kids. As mentioned with other review, there was a musty smell in the downstairs area. Best part was the lakeside access and availability to kayaks and a paddle board.

Overall great experience! House is great location and well stocked. The escalator was key to enjoying the lake and fishing. The driveway down to the house is newly paved and was a great surprise. The access to the basement bedrooms via the garage did not bother us whatsoever. Would consider booking again in the future. Great overall memories were made here.

As always, FLPP makes the process seamless. This is an excellent property as long as you don't mind taking a tram down to the water. A big bonus is the number of water "toys" available including paddleboards, kayaks, etc.

Nice, but had issues.
Pros: Beautiful house, very clean, lots of room, well stocked kitchen with many small appliances, elevator down to lake. Cons: Light switches that do not turn on lights, temperature control issues, to get to downstairs section you have to go through a garage, fireplace does not appear safe, lack of exterior lighting. We had a big storm and lost power, we contacted property management, and they kept us updated. Next day late afternoon called again because tv and internet was out. Contacted again and they tried to fix but had to call company service. Due to location a generator would be a great addition. Two bedrooms are upstairs and two bedrooms are downstairs, but you have to go through the garage. Its a bit weird setup. Huge full kitchen upstairs and small bar and mini kitchen area with refrigerator which was nice. The thermostat was difficult to work as it seemed preset and scheduled. Very cold the first two nights then I found a space heater. View is beautiful. Large deck with outdoor tables and chairs. I wish our weather was nicer so we could enjoy it. Hot tub was relaxing. I loved that we could bring our dog, they even left a goody bag for him. Plenty of wineries close by, some within a 5 minute drive.

Pros: Lots of room, many small appliances available, beautiful view. Power went out and property manager kept us updated then internet was out from strong winds and they got it fixed next day. Wineries within 5 minute drive. My dog loved coming with us and the goody bag. Cons: Light switches that do nothing or do not work, downstairs separate and have to go through a cold garage, heat controls upstairs do not work, a generator would be amazing for when power goes out, fireplace has issues.

Mrs.
I stayed for a girls weekend and what a lovely place. Tastefully decorated and had everything you needed. Looked like the whole place was recently remodeled and more being done. I would love to see how it looked before being remodeled. I was also checking it out to possibly take my family and stay here but no dates were available as of yet. The view over the lake was gorgeous and I liked that it was very private not a place close to everyone else. Simply Beautiful!
