Description Description
Welcome to Riesling Rod and Reel, a cozy Finger Lakes vacation rental where lake life and leisure meet in perfect harmony. Set on the quiet eastern shore of Honeoye Lake, this charming chalet-style vacation home invites you to unwind, cast a line, and savor the simple pleasures of lakeside living. Whether your dream getaway includes reeling in the biggest bass of the season or exploring the celebrated Finger Lakes Wine Trails, Riesling Rod and Reel delivers the ideal blend of comfort, recreation, and natural beauty.

From the moment you turn down the private road, the world slows down. Tucked at the end of a peaceful lane surrounded by trees and birdsong, this lakefront retreat offers a true sense of privacy and calm. The home’s classic white entry door opens to a bright, open floor plan designed for gathering with loved ones. With sunlight filtering through large windows and gentle lake breezes drifting in, every corner feels warm and welcoming.

The heart of the home is its open kitchen and great room, where rustic charm meets thoughtful modern touches. The kitchen’s oak cabinetry and cool blue accents reflect the colors of the lake just beyond the windows. It’s fully equipped with everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals — from morning pancakes to evening feasts. The large dining table nearby is perfect for family meals, lively conversation, or late-night card games that stretch into laughter-filled evenings.

Just beyond the kitchen, the great room commands attention with its stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. While decorative, it stands as a beautiful focal point — the heart of this home — adding warmth and character to the open-concept space. Cozy seating invites guests to relax after a day of exploring the Finger Lakes, whether you’re reading a book, watching a movie, or simply gazing out the windows at the serene water views.

Downstairs, a spacious lakeside bedroom offers a peaceful retreat. Painted in calming blue hues, it features two queen beds and plenty of space for families or groups to spread out comfortably. This room connects to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a stand-up shower, also accessible from the hallway for added convenience.

Upstairs, you’ll find three additional bedrooms, each designed to be both inviting and restful. Soft linens, lake-inspired décor, and natural light create cozy sanctuaries for winding down at the end of the day. The second full bathroom on this floor ensures comfort for everyone in your group.

Step outside, and you’ll quickly see why guests fall in love with Riesling Rod and Reel. The lakeside patio offers an inviting spot to start your mornings with a fresh cup of coffee as ducks glide across the glassy water. During the day, lounge in the sunshine, launch a kayak, or wade into the lake for a refreshing swim. The gentle shoreline and peaceful setting make it ideal for families with children or anyone who enjoys a relaxed pace.

As evening falls, the magic of the property truly comes alive. Gather around the lakeside firepit to share stories, roast marshmallows, or toast to the day’s adventures. Watch the sky transform from brilliant pinks and golds to star-filled twilight, the lake shimmering with reflections of the fading light. It’s easy to see why locals say that “good things come to those who bait.”

Beyond the comfort of the home, Riesling Rod and Reel places you close to some of the Finger Lakes’ most beloved attractions. Just a short drive away, CB Craft Brewers offers unique local brews and a friendly atmosphere — the perfect place to unwind after a day on the water. Art lovers can stop by the Mill Art Center & Gallery, which showcases works by regional artists and craftspeople.

If you’re visiting in the fall, don’t miss the vibrant foliage and local harvest celebrations throughout the region, including the nearby Naples Grape Festival. In the winter, the adventure continues at Bristol Mountain, just a short drive away, where you’ll find excellent skiing, snowboarding, and scenic chairlift rides. When the weather warms again, golfers will enjoy the nearby courses, and hikers will find miles of scenic trails that weave through forests, waterfalls, and vineyards.

Back at the house, every detail has been designed with your comfort in mind. The home’s layout makes it ideal for family gatherings, offering both open spaces for time together and private bedrooms for rest and quiet. The décor strikes the perfect balance between classic lakehouse character and modern convenience, while thoughtful amenities — from Wi-Fi to cozy furnishings — ensure your stay is effortless and enjoyable.

For those who love to fish, Honeoye Lake is one of the best spots in the Finger Lakes to cast a line for largemouth bass, perch, and walleye. With calm waters and easy access from the shoreline, you can spend your mornings on the dock and your afternoons exploring the surrounding countryside. Whether you’re an avid angler or simply enjoy the peaceful rhythm of lake life, this vacation home offers a front-row seat to nature’s beauty.

Evenings at Riesling Rod and Reel are made for slowing down. As the sun dips behind the hills, the lake reflects every color of the sky — gold, lavender, and deep blue. The quiet hum of crickets replaces the bustle of the day, and the flicker of the firepit adds a warm glow to the lakeside patio. Here, time feels unhurried, and every moment feels like a memory in the making.

Combining rustic charm, modern amenities, and a location that’s close to everything yet blissfully private, Riesling Rod and Reel is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to reconnect. Whether you’re here to fish, explore, sip local wines, or simply relax by the water, this Finger Lakes vacation rental offers the perfect setting for your next getaway.

Book your stay at Riesling Rod and Reel today and experience the peaceful rhythm of lake life on Honeoye Lake — where comfort, adventure, and connection come together in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

It was the first time my family was all together for a vacation and it was perfect. The home and yard were very welcoming. The grandkids had their first fishing experience off of the dock which was very successful. Just sitting out in the yard and watching the eagles, duck families and even an otter or two was very relaxing. Everyone had a wonderful vacation here.

We loved this house! After years of cramming into smaller cottages we found this a great fit for 7 people and 2 dogs. Being able to walk right to the water without going down a flight of stairs was also a huge perk. Beds were comfortable, house was clean, and we loved that linens and towels were included. Overall this is a great house that provided a relaxing stay and we can’t wait to return!

A great location on Honeoye Lake.  The house was laid out perfectly for families, especially families with small children.

We went as a family to Celebrate my Husband's 10th year Heart Transplant anniversary.  We brought extra items for the kitchen we thought we would need but didn't need any of the items as it was full equipped.  There was plenty of space for the 8 adults and we didn't feel we were on top of each other.  The yard was big and we didn't feel like we were on top of the neighbors. Really enjoyed out time there and can't wait to go back.

Family Vaca

This is a very nice home. Nice shore line to the lake and lots of shade. We were a little disappointed that there were NO kitchen staples (flour, sugar, mustard, ketchup, mayo, oil, vinegar), but there is a little grocery store on the other side of the lake. Description said to bring outdoor chairs, but there were plenty there.

Not what we hoped for

The house was nice and the layout was as well, but the photos are a bit deceiving when it comes to the size of the living areas. We were disappointed with the lake itself. We have stayed on other Finger Lakes and were not overly familiar with Honeoye Lake as much. Researching the lake didn't save us. We weren't able to into the water on any of the ten days of our stay. The lake struggles with frequent algae blooms which can be a health hazard. It also is dominated by seaweed which we had to remove from the shoreline for the one day when the algae didn't bloom. It's a pretty location but we came prepared to have fun in the water with our grandchildren and that didn't happen. We won't look to rent a property on Honeoye Lake ever again during the summer months. This would be a lovely location for the fall when water fun isn't what you're seeking.

Quiet and relaxing getaway

My family had a wonderful time! The house and town are quiet and relaxing. The house was spacious for the 6 of us and had so many amenities. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! If you want to go out to wineries and breweries I highly recommend Canandaigua lake area which is only 25 min from the house! Our favorite brewery was Other Half Brewing company and our favorite restaurant was Nolan’s for a delicious Father’s Day dinner.

Great find

What a great VRBO! Everything was clean and the house was prepped with whatever you need. Great place for families- it was very kid friendly and there were even toys, strollers etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house and would definitely recommend. The grill and outdoor fire pit were perfect. Twisted Rail Brewery and Sandy Bottom Nature Trail are both super close. There was a lot of algae in the lake but due to the time of year we weren’t planning on swimming so it didn’t bother us. Thanks for having us!

FIVE STARS!

What a great home and great location! This house by far had more amenities than any other rental property we have stayed at. My family and I had a great time. Here are some tips for future renters at this property: -There is no dishwasher -There is a crockpot, a lot of silverware, ice cube trays, a nice microwave, a nice stove and oven, real plates, pretty much a fully equipped kitchen, spatulas, serving spoons, grill utensils, etc. -Lots of toddler/baby toys, pack & play, high chair seat that sits on the chair -Nice grill w/ propane -Outdoor table and chairs that seats 8 -I would suggest bringing your own bath towels or bringing extra. Some towels are provided. -BRING KITCHEN TOWELS, OVEN MITTS, POT HOLDERS, DISH RAGS-none of these items are in the house. Probably Covid related reasons. -Really nice washer and dryer are in garage. -Due to Covid, all sheets and bath towels are wrapped and left on your bed so when you arrive you can unwrap them and put the sheets and pillow cases on yourself. (unless you decide to bring your own) -Dog friendly! -We rented a pontoon from Trident Marina! -Check out twisted rail brewery...good drinks and food. Located right at the Trident Marina down the road. -Cable TV in living room -Neighbors are close, but that is to be expected at lake houses usually. -There is a 7-11 store couple of miles up the road -Bring extra blankets. Every bed only has one blanket on it (like a thin quilt) Which is fine in the summer but by labor day weekend, it was chilly at night and we did bring our own extra blankets. -Nice gas fireplace in living room -Very clean house! Well kept. -Loved that the water was just a few short steps away from the house and you don't have to walk down steep stairs, like many lake houses have. -Didn't catch one single dang fish. Oh well. Had a great time!!!

This was our 5th year spending a week on Honeoye lake for our family vacation (12 of us). The house was very comfortable and each bedroom was huge compared to other houses we stayed in. Kitchen had everything we needed, and was a bonus to have an extra pack and play and high chair seat for the little ones. Great week!

I had a wonderful experience renting through Finger Lakes Premier Properties. Any time I had a question, there was always someone available and friendly to assist. The ease of renting through this company was fantastic and communication was great. Absolutely no issues with our rental for the time we were there. Exactly as expected, maybe even a better view than expected. Very clean and everything we would have needed was right there. I would highly recommend renting through this company, we definitely will in the future!

This house was one of our favorite vacation rentals in 19 years of marriage. Honeoye is a small town and quiet. The house offers the perfect opportunity to relax and spend time with family. We kayaked, rowed, fished, picnicked, played, and just watched the water for days.

Perfect Reunion
My 4 siblings & spouses spent a long weekend at this beautiful place. The house is beautiful, impeccably kept, and perfectly equipped. The lake is steps away from the back deck. Plenty to do in the area, but it was hard to leave the house, as we loved the large eating area, comfy living spaces, and the yard, lake and fire pit! I highly recommend this place!
