Description Description
Located along the quiet banks of the Seneca-Cayuga Canal and just minutes from the heart of Geneva, Riverside Retreat offers the perfect blend of comfort, privacy, and lakeside charm. Set on nearly two acres of lush green property, this peaceful 3-bedroom canal-front pet-friendly home with space for up to 6 guests provides a true escape from the everyday, where mornings begin with the gentle ripple of water and evenings end gathered around a fire beneath the stars. Whether you’re arriving for a family retreat, a romantic getaway, or a week of boating and wine tasting in wine country, Riverside Retreat captures the best of Finger Lakes living in one beautifully relaxed setting!

This cozy single-story cottage is designed for guests who love both comfort and adventure. With the Seneca River running along the width of the property, it’s a true boater’s paradise. You can launch right from the private on-site boat ramp or tie up to the large permanent dock that accommodates multiple boats. The canal provides direct access to Seneca Lake in less than a quarter mile—ideal for anyone eager to spend their days fishing, cruising, or exploring the scenic waterways that make the Finger Lakes region so special. Just across the river, a full-service marina offers gas and live bait, making it easy to keep your lake days going without interruption.

Inside, this vacation rental feels like home from the moment you walk in. The open-concept great room is warm and inviting, featuring skylights that fill the space with natural light and hardwood floors that flow throughout. The full kitchen is bright and functional, with plenty of counter space, a tile backsplash, and all the essentials for preparing meals with family and friends. You might start your day by brewing coffee and watching the mist rise off the canal, or pour a glass of local Finger Lakes wine in the evening while dinner simmers on the stove. Conversations flow easily here, whether gathered around the table or sharing stories in the adjoining living room.

The living area is comfortably furnished with plush seating and large windows that frame serene water views. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down—a space for reading, relaxing, or simply watching the boats pass by. From this vantage point, you might spot herons wading in the shallows, ducks floating downstream, or the occasional fish jumping from the water. For many guests, those quiet moments become their favorite part of the stay.

Three thoughtfully decorated bedrooms offer restful spaces for everyone in your group. Two rooms are furnished with queen beds and soft linens, creating cozy retreats after a day of exploring. The third bedroom features a full-size futon, making it a flexible space for children, teens, or an additional guest. The home’s full bathroom is cheerful and functional, designed with a subtle nautical theme that reflects the home’s canal-side setting. With a combination tub and shower, it provides convenience for both quick rinses and long soaks after a day in the sun.

Step outside and you’ll discover the true charm of Riverside Retreat. A spacious patio overlooks the canal, complete with an outdoor dining set where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning light or dinner under the evening sky. The expansive yard offers plenty of space for lawn games, picnics, or simply stretching out in the sunshine with a good book. As the day winds down, make your way to the fire pit near the water’s edge. With wood crackling and the reflection of the stars dancing across the surface of the river, it’s the perfect setting to end the night together.

The location of Riverside Retreat makes it easy to enjoy everything the Finger Lakes region has to offer. Downtown Geneva is just five minutes away, where you’ll find a variety of restaurants, local shops, and the convenience of Wegmans grocery store. Spend the day exploring nearby wineries along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail such as Ventosa Vineyards, Zugibe Vineyards, or Three Brothers Wineries and Estates—all just a short drive from your door. For a change of scenery, head to Seneca Lake State Park, where you can stroll or bike along the lakefront, cool off at the splash pad, or simply take in the sweeping views of Seneca Lake. Enjoy day trips to Ithaca or Rochester to tour historic colleges, explore hiking trails at Watkins Glen State Park or Buttermilk Falls State Park, fish for trout, bass, or perch in Cayuga Lake, or take a scenic bike ride along Canandaigua Lake. There’s something for everyone in the Finger Lakes!

After a day of adventure, coming home to Riverside Retreat feels like the best part of vacation. The quiet canal, the glow of the fire pit, and the easy rhythm of life here invite you to slow down, reconnect, and savor every moment. We felt immediately at home upon arrival. Surprised to see how well stocked the kitchen was with cookware, dishware, silverware etc. Nice to have life vest to use as we rented a boat which we kept at the dock. We enjoyed the privacy of the large property on the river. Would enjoy returning.

Long weekend getaway
The property was very nice very private. I wasn’t expecting it to be so private a lot of wildlife and right along the river was a nice thing. The only thing I would recommend is putting some kind of privacy blinds in the bigger bedroom the blinds there you could see through.

Cute older home in a nice location.
Lots of open space to walk the dogs. We saw lots of wildlife. Kingfishers and Eagles and a mink, plenty of squirrels and a mink by the river. Some road noise but nothing too loud. crummy drive in through a older trailer park. We had no issues and felt safe. Older furniture that could use some updating. Overall a nice place to stay. So happy the dogs were allowed.

Kayaking Trip
This was our second time at this property. We love where it is for going out on our kayaks. It’s a very nice place to stay. Wish the beds were larger and a little bigger kitchen table. Some other reviewers said the road noise was loud but we were busy during the day on the water or wine exploring and at night it is not as busy on the roadway and rather quiet. Great place to stay! Close to many stores and wineries.

Quiet sanctuary
I absolutely loved this property! So clean and well kept, no problems with anything! It was so quiet at night, in the morning you can hear the birds and geese. Ample towels etc. supplied, fully stocked kitchen and not with cheap items. The main bedroom has bird feeders outside the windows you can watch as you wake up, just another added touch. I enjoyed sitting on the dock in the morning and enjoying the wildlife. Already looking at dates to reserve for next year!

Secluded spot
Perfect for a quiet week with the dogs. Plenty of space for us and them. Clean and well kept cabin. When they say bring condiments, they mean it. All the cabinets were cleaned out of the usual salt and pepper and random spices left by others. But there were plenty of pans and other kitchen accessories to cook with.

Nice view great cabin

Three adults and two dogs stayed for just over a week. Lots of wildlife. We saw plenty of squirrels, a mink along the shoreline, eagles, and kingfishers in the trees. The groundhog that lives under the deck liked to sun in the morning. The location was perfect for the activities that we did. Some road noise was loud, but overall not too bad. It was neat to see the rowing teams practice in the early mornings. There was lots of boat traffic but it wasn’t loud or obnoxious. The yard was fabulous to walk the dogs. They enjoyed swimming and watching the squirrels. We felt safe and enjoyed our time. The drive in past the trailer park made me suspicious but we didn’t have any problems. The loveseat is extremely uncomfortable, and should be replaced. The futon was also fairly uncomfortable, and would be better suited for a child, not an adult. A full-size bed could fit in that room.

Great location for kayaking! Our second time staying there. Very nice place but could use some updates, mattresses, kitchen table could be bigger. Other than that very comfortable. If you stay for a week be sure you bring TP, paper towels and laundry soap. Was a very nice week there again! Thank you!

Amazing private cabin

I'll admit, I was a bit leery about the lack of online reviews for several years...as well as traversing the winding gravel road, PAST the "Do Not Enter" signs at the start of the property. We were happy to find a very neat, very clean cottage which was perfect for my husband, me, and our two young dogs (2 yrs and 1 yr). We loved the set-up of the cabin -- we stayed in the bedroom nearest to the bathroom, while our dogs slept in their crates in the living room area. My in-laws visited for one night and slept in the front bedroom off of the living area. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer was a godsend. The "auto" setting for the dryer did not seem to work as well, but the "timed" setting did. My dogs LOVED the two-acre property to run around. We had a fire in the firepit one night, which was lovely. We watched the scull teams practice morning and evening, and a touring boat went by the last morning prior to our departure. I did not want the dogs to go into the water -- the shore was a bit "mucky," with sea grass along the way. The only thing I would wish for would be an outdoor hose, if needed to wash off pups. The weather was a bit too cool for us to take out the kayaks, but it was nice to have them available. There were no trash/recycling bins on the property or at the mailbox (other than the neighbor's bin). Trash/recycling day is on Monday. I contacted Premier, spoke with Louella and Jen, and they had folks pick up our trash twice. Excellent service and pick-up!

Great getaway!

Had an awesome Anniversary weekend with our dog. This little cabin was right near the canal, which was perfect for kayaking. Large property, so there was plenty of privacy. Inside is cute. I just wish there was at least another half bath. And you can’t tell in the pictures or description, but there is a Keurig. Overall, I would recommend 100%. We had a blast and I would stay here again!

Perfect Waterfront Location!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Riverside Retreat. Nothing better than sitting in an Adirondack chair by the dock, reading a book and watching the boats go by. Quiet Getaway!

We chose a property that was between our home towns where our parents still reside. They were able to drive and visit us at the house. It was spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing time. So much wildlife, our dogs were on high alert every moment. It was great fun!

The property was huge and very well maintained. Being on the river was much nicer than we anticipated especially with kids. There seemed to be less of a current than in the lake and they could use the boats without us worrying about them getting too far out. We had a great time. We will definitely use Finger Lakes Premier Properties again!
