Sails & Sunsets is located on east side just across from the Bluff. This is the widest stretch of water on Keuka Lake, with panoramic views of the bluff and all three branches! Due to the location of this property you'll find ample area activities to do!
The water gets deep gradually for young swimmers, and there is a beach where the kids can play. The lawn is a ‘barefoot lawn’ - no chemicals - so kick off your shoes and enjoy the cool green grass. We think you will enjoy our cove as much as the bald eagle(s) who seem to know that it's a good place to fish. Those who seek exercise will appreciate the quiet country road that goes uphill for two miles directly behind the cottage. This leads to one of the best views of Keuka, “Silsbee Road Overlook,” 1 ½ miles from the cottage. During the fall you will be treated with the fragrance of the ripe grapes as you walk past the vineyards. The quiet lake road is perfect for leisurely strolls, and in nearby Penn Yan the Keuka Outlet Trail with its rapids and waterfalls is a beautiful place to bicycle, hike or enjoy cross country skiing during winter months.
For the times when you just want to relax, Sails & Sunsets provides space to curl up with a good book, wireless internet and two TVs. No need to worry about decorating while staying at Sails and Sunsets for the holidays. A decorated tree adorns this vacation home from Thanksgiving until just after the New Year.
The walk-out basement opens to the lower deck, measures a spacious 25 X 50 feet, and offers many amenities. If you have a rainy day, don’t despair, because there is plenty of room for youngsters to romp and play. A ping pong table, extra futon, and table and chairs to play a variety of games (provided of course) should keep families of all ages entertained. There are two outdoor decks to choose between - one in the sun and one in the shade - both less than 25 feet from the lake.
Every room has been elegantly furnished and many of the pieces are handcrafted by local Mennonites. No comfort has been spared, including in the bedrooms. Each bed features top quality Beauty Rest mattresses, and one of the bedrooms features a hand-hewn lodge pole pine bedroom suite from the Northwest. A semi private loft with a queen size BeautyRest futon and scenic views of the lake provides a comfortable fourth bedroom. The loft’s antique table and chairs offers a quiet place for relaxing.
The Keuka Yacht Club is directly across the lake from the cottage. Guests will be able to enjoy watching sailboat races on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer. Places to visit while you are at the lake include the charming villages of Hammondsport and Penn Yan, the State Park at Watkins Glen, the Windmill Farm and Craft Market, many Mennonite owned and operated produce stands (watch for them in their stately horse and buggies), the Glenn Curtiss Museum of Aviation, the Corning Museum of Glass, and of course the 3 wineries within walking distance! For those who like to golf, there are two golf courses, a nine hole and an eighteen hole course within three and ten miles of the cottage, respectively. Located 1/2 hour from Watkins Glen, where you’ll find the Watkins Glen International Race Track and the State Park. Our 27 year experience with Premier Properties never disappoints. The properties are accurately advertised and the add- on fees are justified to have clean well maintained properties and quick responses when needed. The reservation process is efficient.

We had a marvelous time at Sails and Sunsets. The cottage was a perfect size for us and the amenities we're also perfect. We enjoyed the neighbors and having the owners nearby was a plus.
By Jeannine from New York City NY, Posted: 07/24/2016We had a wonderful time. The house is so comfortable and equipped with everything you need. We loved sitting and looking at the beautiful lake with the marvelous sunsets. I highly recommend staying at Sails and Sunsets!
By Mike D. from Downington PA, Posted: 07/18/2016At this property, you can have your cake and eat it too! The location on the lake is perfect for reducing any trip you may need to journey, from a boat ride to your favorite fishing spot to a drive to one of the lakes many wineries, and everything in between. The home is perfect in many other ways as well. It is maintained and always in great shape. The walk out basement comes in handy whether loading the tubing equipment or needing to keep your four legged friend happy. Finally, the views here are the best on the lake. The view of the Bluff is one of the best on the entire lake. I can say that I have made Sails and Sunsets an annual part of every summer with my family. I know you won't be disappointed.
By Lori from Douglasville PA, Posted: 05/16/2016Everyone I dealt with was professional and friendly! This property exceeded our expectations! Beautiful, clean and wonderful view!!! I hope we can come again!
By Denise from Wadsworth OH, Posted: 07/02/2014This was by far the best house we have ever rented as far as the quality of the home, the cleanliness, upkeep, and overall convenience and setting. There was adequate furniture for the whole family to relax on that was comfortable, clean, and solid. The beds and mattresses were comfy and quiet with no disturbing squeaks or lumps. The kitchen appliances were modern, clean, and worked flawlessly. There was adequate cookware and utensils that were all good quality. The gentle slope to the lake made it very easily accessible, and the gravel beach made it easy for us to use our kayaks every evening. The lake level entrance through the concrete floored basement turned out to be a great convenience, allowing fishing off the dock every dawn and dusk without disturbing the entire house! The parking was level, big enough to load and unload kayaks and gear, and convenient. It was nice to be on the small private lane off the main road, amongst the locals. It made it feel like living in a quiet neighborhood on the lakeshore, unlike a typical commercial rental property. Great fishing in Lake Keuka was a big plus. When we come back, we will definitely arrange to rent this house again! Overall A++ rating!
