Schoolhouse Cottage

Moms weekend away from our families. We found a super cute breakfast place for Saturday morning in the downtown area - 13 minutes away. We had a car service pick us up for the day on Saturday. All in all though, it was hard leaving the house because the view and relaxation was amazing. The porch area especially but the dock was really relaxing too. Thanks for a great time away.

Our group really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was comfortable for seven adults. We spent two full days doing winery tours and the location of this house was perfect! The back porch is a nice place to drink coffee and we loved the big couch in the living room to hang out. I would definitely recommend this house to other people wanting to visit the finger lakes.

This place is stunning and classy, yet very comfortable. It was the perfect size for our group of 6 adults and 2 children. We loved the many places to hang out: porch, great room, fire pit, dock. It made it easy to be together or find some alone time. The kitchen had everything we needed and the entire property was spotlessly clean. My only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay.

The house is WONDERFUL! Quiet street, great open space! Kitchen is stocked enough when it comes ton pots and pans and utensils ! I would suggest packing ziplock bags or your own leftover containers if you are gonna cook. 7 people some with a couples showers a day and never ran out of hot water! Ceiling fans in 2 of the bedrooms. The back porch….. OMG We lived there! The VIEW, ceiling fans and seating was AWESOME! Plenty of space for all 7 of us! OUR only issue was we did not see the instructions on how to lock the two French doors. The management company never got back to us. We did not use the kayaks because they were difficult to get to. WE WILL GO BACK!!!

The house was perfect for a wine weekend away. There were 8 of us total, the kitchen had man amenities, matched the photos and was plenty spacious. The views were stunning and the deck was perfect for sunbathing. The only hang up we had was parking, we were only allowed 3 spaces when the property could have fit more cars. We parked the others at the rental office 15 minutes away but wished we could have parked at the house. All that said I would fully recommend and hope to be back in the future!

The house is even bigger and lovelier than it appears online. It was sparkling clean right down to the corners both inside and out. Right away we felt relaxed and at home, and it was perfect for our group of six adults and two children. We loved hanging out in the main room and around the long dining table. We spent hours on the huge, comfortable porch overlooking the lake enjoying our morning coffee, watching the birds on the water and in the trees, taking afternoon naps, sipping wine, and later marveling at the peacefulness of lake after dark. We also had a magical evening around the fire pit toasting marshmallows for s'mores. I even spent a quiet hour by myself just relaxing and reading down on the dock. It was fun to play with the children in the large yard. The kitchen had everything we needed with more than enough plates, glasses, and silverware. The beds were comfortable and the main bedroom had both an en suite and a door that opened on to that fabulous porch. Both the serene setting and the location were perfect for us. Our only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay.

It would take a very long time to list all the wonderful features of this property. It is absolutely stunning, much larger than I anticipated, spotlessly clean, and the perfect location. All the beds are super comfy, plenty of hot water, and the view is amazing. I was attending my daughter's wedding in Penn Yan and couldn't have found a better place to relax and rest in between festivities. A sincere thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay, and kudos to property management for the upkeep and excellent communication. ten stars!

i don't know where to start - the place was spotless, excellent layout, good comfortable furniture and mattresses, and the kitchen has everything you need . the setting was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. THE PORCH was where we where most of the time , right on the water watching the sun rise or the full moon, listening to the birds and looking at that serene lake. next time, we will stay longer. many thanks.

We stayed at the cottage for a week of peace and tranquility found on a wonderful porch overlooking the lake. The finishes inside and out were of definite high quality. There was an abundance of room for reading, listening to music, cooking, tv and of course conversation. We are looking forward to future visits.

What a wonderful time we had at the Schoolhouse Cottage! This spacious waterfront property had everything we were looking for and more. The kitchen is fabulous—large 6-burner range with a huge oven and nice cookware made dining in a real pleasure. The gas grill by the deck was in perfect working order with plenty of propane. Nice updated baths, as well. The huge deck looking out over the yard and Seneca Lake really stole the show, though! We found ourselves wishing we had scheduled a couple more days just to hang out at the property, lounge on the dock, and paddle around in the kayaks. That said, location is also perfect for taking advantage of the many nearby attractions: we had a lovely time at Anthony Road Winery just minutes away and were just 15-20 minutes from HWS Colleges where our son was graduating this weekend. We would definitely return for a longer stay!

We had a fun few day stay here for a birthday. This place is so beautiful and clean and is situated on Lake Seneca with a wonderful view. Did lots of wine tasting all around the lake and this cottage was in the perfect location. If you stay here you must visit Anthony Road Winery and Kemmeter. Great experiences all around. Will definitely stay here again.

Schoolhouse Cottage was a very relaxing place to vacation. Sitting on the porch overlooking the lake was the best! Very clean, very comfortable. We had a great time and we would stay there again should we go back to the Finger Lakes.

This was our second stay at the Schoolhouse Cottage and it is the perfect spot along Seneca Lake. Access to the lake for fishing and kayaking is excellent. Proximity to Geneva for groceries and walking the Canal Trail is only 20 minutes away. We were able to order out meals from restaurants in Penn Yan (only 15 minutes). I highly recommend Keuka Restaurant, Cam's pizza and Seneca Farms!

This is a fantastic rental. The pictures make you want to go there - the amenities make you want to stay! The location was very central to all the Finger Lakes has to offer - hiking, wineries and such great restaurants. The renovations of this cottage were done with care and craftsmanship. The two guys in our party have extensive home renovation experience and both agreed that it was a job well done! And one of the guys is a fantastic cook and pronounced the kitchen almost as good as his kitchen he put in back home! That's extremely high praise - and we certainly enjoyed the meals he prepared! And while he was cooking we spent time on the beautiful covered deck or on the dock down at the lakefront! What could be better than a covered deck looking out at a beautiful lake? The living/dining/kitchen area was perfect for our needs - we spent most of the daylight hours out on the deck but when we had to come inside the space was great! The bedrooms were very roomy and comfortable. A very nice arrangement for 2 couples vacationing together with 2 full (and very beautiful) bathrooms. The views were spectacular of the lake ranging from rain with a double-rainbow out over the lake to crisp, cool mornings and beautiful evenings on the deck. The landscaping and gardens were very inviting - you can tell someone loves this house! Besides us, I mean. We have stayed in many rentals in the Finger Lakes and I must say this is one of the best! Our family had a wonderful time. The accommodations were more than what the pictures offered. The renovations were done as if it were in my own home, as a person critical to quality in, appliances and workmanship, Job Well Done! Had time to have breakfast in the morning and head out to the wineries, came back for lunch then head out again for tasting, then back for dinner, everything you would want close by. The size of the living/dining/kitchen area was perfect for our adult children to all be there for my wife's birthday. The 3 bedrooms were very roomy and comfortable. The views were spectacular of the lake even though it rained which presented a full rainbow out over the lake that evening. The mornings were crisp and clear with a beautiful sunrise. Perfect for a fall setting this time of year. Oh did I mention the porch :) could have slept out there all night, would have needed a few more comfy throws though. The neighbors even waved back to us, the unknown, which is very nice. One thing that would have made it better would have been a fire place just because I am a romantic, but understanding that it is a rental it is much safer without. Oh and a plug for the winery I liked, Fox Run is a got to see :) love the old barn feel. I have Pictures that will last a life time of some beautiful views. Thank You Dave -N- Diane
