Description Description
What could be better than planning a wine tour along the famous Seneca Lake Wine Trail? How about driving right through a vineyard to arrive at your private lakefront vacation home? Welcome to Stowaway, your perfect Finger Lakes getaway nestled on the peaceful shores of Seneca Lake.

Located on Stowe Road and accessed through the picturesque Caywood Vineyards, this secluded retreat boasts over 300 feet of natural lake frontage and a permanent dock that makes lake access effortless. With two bedrooms plus a loft, Stowaway comfortably sleeps up to six guests, making it an ideal destination for couples, families, or groups looking to explore the Seneca Lake region.

Step inside Stowaway through the side entrance and be greeted by an open, inviting floor plan designed for relaxation and connection. To your right, a beautiful stone fireplace offers warmth and charm, perfect for cozy evenings after a day of exploring. The kitchen is quaint yet fully functional, equipped with all the essentials for preparing your favorite meals. Whether you’re whipping up a quick breakfast before heading out to a winery or crafting a multi-course dinner after a day on the water, this kitchen has you covered. Adjacent to the kitchen, the cozy living area invites you to unwind on comfortable seating while enjoying serene views of the surrounding woods and lake. The lower level also features a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo and two well-appointed bedrooms, each with new flooring to add a fresh, modern touch.

Upstairs, the semi-private loft overlooks the living room and offers a king-size bed, a perfect retreat for those who want a quiet and comfortable space to rest. The loft’s elevated vantage point adds a sense of openness and connection to the rest of the home, while still providing privacy.

One of Stowaway’s greatest charms is its outdoor living spaces. Sip your morning coffee on the balcony as you watch eagles soar overhead and listen to the calls of local birds. As night falls, the starry skies over Seneca Lake provide a magical backdrop for unwinding with your favorite bottle of local Finger Lakes wine.

The expansive yard is ideal for lawn games, picnics, or simply enjoying the fresh air. When you’re ready to head down to the lake, the stairs lead to your own private dock—perfect for sunbathing, fishing, or diving into the cool, clear waters of Seneca Lake.

Stowaway offers a prime location for wine lovers eager to explore the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Within a short drive, discover acclaimed wineries such as Wagner Vineyards, Boundary Breaks Vineyards, and Bagley’s Poplar Ridge Vineyards, where you can sample award-winning wines and soak in stunning vineyard views. For those looking to venture further, the charming town of Watkins Glen is just 20 minutes away. Here you’ll find an array of excellent restaurants, boutique shops, and the spectacular Watkins Glen State Park, known for its breathtaking waterfalls and hiking trails. For a unique experience, consider taking a scenic cruise on Seneca Lake with Captain Bill to see the region from a fresh perspective.

Because access to the property requires driving through the vineyard and on some uneven roads, 4WD or all-wheel drive is recommended to ensure a smooth journey.

Book your next unforgettable Seneca Lake vacation at Stowaway today and experience the perfect combination of vineyard charm, lakefront beauty, and Finger Lakes hospitality. Your serene escape on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail awaits!

**4WD or All Wheel Drive is recommended for the drive through the vineyard and to the property.

Gem!
What a bargain!! The beauty and serenity of this hidden cosy house can’t be put in words or pictures. My personal favorite was the stargazing on the balcony.

We booked for a birthday surprise for my mom. We had so much fun at the house and surround wineries/ breweries. The house was secluded and great for family bonding. I would come back to this property in the future.

Great hidden spot
This was a great tucked away spot behind a vineyard. It was cozy and great access to the lake. It was smack in the middle of many wineries and 15 minutes to watkins glen. There is no air conditioning but fans were supplied. It is supplied with well water. Bring your basic cooking supplies oil, butter and seasonings.

Birthday Getaway
I booked this as a surprise for my mom’s 60th Birthday. We had so much fun swimming, hanging out by the fire and wine tasting. The property was secluded and quiet. Just what we wanted. We had a very enjoyable stay and wished we were there longer. I would rebook here again.

Great stay
Amazing house which is well kept and clean. The steps to the beach and the house are steep but it’s worth it to have the views and be lakeside.

House is clean , rustic but nice. Great location to wineries.  If you like Sunsets this is ideal location. Bring camp chairs for the dock, as there are no chairs that can be carried down and back up the stairs. There are kayaks in the basement of the house. Be prepared to carry those down the stairs and back up at the end of your trip. And please note the yard to the stairs is very steep also. The fans in each room are adequate for cooling at night, during the day it gets a bit warm if temperature outside is humid. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Great and wonderfully secluded place. Might benefit from some more comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture... but honestly, it met expectation exactly. The location and value are outstanding.

We absolutely loved our time at Stowaway. It was truly private and felt like a oasis of calm in the craziness that is our lives. The views are spectacular both at the house and down by the lake. While we knew there would be no AC and we certainly can't markdown for it, it was hot. The many ceiling fans do a nice job of circulating the air but it's no AC, especially not in August. We would definitely consider coming back for another stay.

This is a beautiful home. No A/C but not needed when we go. The FLPP staff does an excellent job. We've never rented anywhere where it is as clean as it is on arrival. Not easy lake access but we aren't looking for this. 4wd access is required.

When we first booked we were expecting a great experience because of the pictures and location. We were a little weary that the pictures would look better than the property (typical concern when renting anything from a business for the first time) and our slight worries washed away the second we opened the front door. This experience far exceeded our expectations. We saw that not only were the listed amenities available but there were some extras, such as kayaks, life jackets, bug spray, sunscreen and chairs for the fire pit. We were in heaven, and we shuffled plans around so we could spend more time at the cabin enjoying everything included. I taught my girlfriends son how to kayak for the first time here, which will be a lasting memory. He loved it so much that we would wake up to him already awake and fishing on the dock. Thank you so much for this experience!

Wonderful Cottage
This is a very well-kept and secluded cottage. All updated appliances and comfortable sleeping arrangements. We had a wonderful week there and loved the view and the privacy. Beautiful dock and shoreline. The hike tp the cabin from the dock can be a bit arduous but not terrible. Without question, it is a great place to spend a week.

Relaxing, Private Escape
My husband and I stayed in Stowaway for a week in July and really enjoyed ourselves. The newly renovated cabin has all the creature comforts one needs in a lake home, as well as some excellent bonuses: two kayaks, a stand-up paddle board, inner tubes, and a fire pit. There is no air conditioning (we were there during an unusual heat spell), but the cabin is very well-ventilated and there are ceiling fans galore. We loved how private the home is, located down a gravel road through a winery, with only two neighbors. Very quiet and *no* road noise. The listing says AWD is recommended to reach the property, but our sedan handled the road and driveway just fine during the dry, hot summer weather. The cabin is small and has one bathroom - ideal for a couple or family. The graded yard and stairs to the beach can be a workout, but we didn't find it to be a problem. Those with mobility issues will, however. We only wished that the outdoor furniture had been sturdier and more comfortable. Otherwise, we loved our week at Stowaway and would highly recommend it.

We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Stowaway and used all the outdoor amenities that came with this rental. We have passed your note along to the owner of this home that the outdoor furniture could have been more sturdier and comfortable. The owners are now looking into getting new outoor furniture so future guests will have a more comfortable time at their rental. We are so glad you loved your week at Stowaway and hope to host you again in the future.
