Remodeled from top to bottom, The Rod and Vine is a treasure like no other. Inside, an open kitchen with off white cabinetry and plenty of counter space allow for meal prep to be a breeze! Stop down to Ithaca to their farmers market, and enjoy the freshness that local produce brings to your favorite meals. A high-top island bar allow for gathering as the chef of your group prepare for meals together. Off the kitchen, a custom-built bar with natural edge wood top is yours to enjoy! Whether you’re a professional mixologist, or just appreciate a local glass of Finger Lakes wine, or pint of craft beer; you’re sure to appreciate this bar with mini fridge, ice maker and copper sink.

Giving the lake views a run for their money; a floor to ceiling stone, gas fireplace hugs the wall between the kitchen and living area. On chilly evenings, enjoy the ambiance the fireplace provides. The living area is accented with large picture windows. Enjoy lake views from sun up, until sun down. A wrap around sofa offers the perfect space to curl up and relax any time of day.

Off the living room, the den is ideal if you’re having to work while on vacation, or if you want a space for the kids to play quietly. This cozy space also homes a sleeper sofa; perfect for an afternoon nap. Completing the entry level is a full bath with stand-up shower.

We stayed at this property in August with 6 family members, 4 adults and 2 children. The home was lovely! The renovations were nicely done, beds all very comfortable. The kitchen and bar area were very spacious and made it very comfortable for cooking, which we did every night! Loved that many beach items were provided. We loved using the paddle boards and kayaks! Our entire family used the porch daily. We ate every meal out there, and had coffee and wine there too! :) The sunrises over the lake are just beautiful, highly recommend and can't wait to return!

Can't wait to return!

A new favorite spot on beautiful Cayuga Lake

We rented the Rod and Vine for both our immediate and extended family for five nights and loved it! There were many different sleeping options/arrangements which was so helpful in accommodating all eight of us. We were all able to have our own space as well as enjoy the many common areas together. Each bedroom has its own thermostat, closet, nightstands, dresser which allowed for additional comfort. We spent mornings cooking and sharing breakfast together in the gorgeous open concept kitchen/bar area. The bar is absolutely gorgeous and the kitchen is stocked every dish, cup, utensil, pot, and pan imaginable. Having a washer and dryer available to us was an additional bonus and both very easy to operate. The entire house was spotless, organized, and well kept, both inside and out! Two of our favorite aspects were the upper/lower decks and the private dock. We spent every night together eating (sometimes grilling) on the lower deck with a beautiful view of the private dock and lake. The upper deck is connected to the master bedroom and shares the same amazing view. The dock is a perfect spot to fish, sunbathe, enjoy a cup of coffee or cocktail, and, for the more adventurous, jump into the lake. Having access to paddle boards, kayaks, and paddles as well as life jackets offered us a safe and fun way to explore the lake as well. In addition, the fire pit was awesome for making smores in the evening. As for the location, it was the perfect place to go and relax or explore. Ithaca is close enough to pick up groceries, go out to dinner, and/or check out the gorges. There are so many breweries/wineries to chose from along the way for wine/beer tasting and food. We also found ourselves in the cute, quaint town of Ovid, only about 15 min away, to pick up a pizza and to replenish our fishing bait. The Rod and Vine is honestly the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with family while exploring all of the beauty, food and drink the finger lakes region has to offer. We will definitely be back!!!!!

A quick getaway-Ideal location and amazing property!

Thank you for such a wonderful stay at The Rod & Vine. We didn't expect to do much in just a few days, but the property, location and beautiful accommodations allowed for lots of wine tasting, kayaking, lounging and great hiking! Sitting on the deck for hours felt just like a tropical getaway. Plus, the thoughtful touches just made the stay feel truly like a resort. We can't wait to come back!

My friends and I stayed at the Rod and Vine and were blown away by how beautiful the house was. The pictures did not do the house or property justice! Aside from relaxing at the lake there are tons of wineries and breweries within a few miles which made our stay even more enjoyable!
