With parking for 3 cars just across the driveway, it is less than 20 feet to reach the cabin. A covered porch sits at the top of the stairs overlooking the lake and is well appointed with wicker patio furniture. Just inside the entry door is an open great room, with vaulted ceilings, knotty pine interior walls, and a row of windows facing the lake. The small kitchen features new appliances and is equipped for preparing basic indoor meals. Overall though we were very pleased!
The cottage was smaller than we expected, but being right on the lake and having the hot tub made up for it. It was also extremely well stocked for how small it was. Dishes, cookware, basic necessities, a crockpot, extra blankets, and lots of mirrors! We had everything we needed.

Great stay close to Watkins Glen

Very clean place right on Lake Seneca for a fall get away. The outside was perfect with a fire pit, hot tub and beautiful flowers everywhere. We spent a lot of time on the porch. Inside was very clean and tidy but like other reviews stated, very tight quarters. It was just two of us so we managed ok. The bed is VERY SMALL especially for those that are used to a king size bed. We used the second bedroom (with the bunkbeds) to store our gear and luggage. All in all, the location was perfect for all the activities we wanted to do.

Great stay

Our stay was perfect. The location was perfect for visiting wineries in the area. Plenty of space in the cabin. Hot tub was nice. The lake view was perfect. Couldn’t be closer to the water.

Cute and Cozy

We stayed here for a girls trip. There were 4 of us (all early 30s). The cottage is very small, but you can't beat the location. It sits about 30 feet back from the lake. The hot tub on the back deck is amazing. The cottage came well stocked with all the necessities. Lots of blankets which made sitting on the deck in November nice and cozy. Would stay here again!

Our stay at the Trottage was lovely. An amazing location, view, outdoor area. The porch was our living room. We enjoyed the fire pit and easy access to the lake.   The house is quaint as the listing mentions, but well kept and clean. The location to parks, vineyards, creameries and towns is perfect. You will love it! Just be prepared for a smaller interior- the porch will be your favorite part!

July 2018 Stay

Location was great- on the lake with a nice yard and quiet street. Cabin was decorated and furnished nicely. We knew it was going to be small, my only nit pick would be it is overly decorated (very nicely) but doesn’t leave lots of space for personal belongings you are bringing in for a week. Hot tub was also nice. The porch was great.

The Trottage was a wonderful pick for our stay in the finger lakes. The actual living quarters are very small but worked fine for 2 adults and a small pup. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to cook dinner most of the week just like we were at home. The landscaping of the property is gorgeous and we found it hard to leave the beautiful scenery during our stay. The hot tub was clean and well kept and the Bluetooth lights on the porch provided the perfect touch. We definitely spent most of our time on the porch or in the yard during our stay.

Lovely little cottage

Superb kitchen, Beautiful plants/flowers. Great porch (spent most of our time on it. Wonderful views and lots of entertainment on the lake. The dining table useless, otherwise all the furniture worked. AC was a surprise in its effectiveness. All in all no complaints. We hope to come back. We gave a concert in Lodi on the 6th and chose this as better than a motel room. No comparison, wonderful to return to after a hot day of practice. Thanks.

Right on the water, well stocked kitchen

Loved the location, right on the water, yet close to town. Kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfortable. Loved the fire pit on the colder nights and the bench swing at the waters edge during the day. Dock had a lower walkway, which made it easy to get in and out of the Kayaks that were provided. We drove to the various water falls within a half hour drive, but our favorite stop was the Watkins Glen Gorge. The Gorge is a must see, BEAUTIFUL!!!

Girls weekend

This cabin was absolutely perfect for a girls weekend. It was right on the lake and having the kayaks and paddle board were an added bonus. Will be back with my family. The cleanliness of the cabin was outstanding.

Wonderful location on Seneca Lake!  The cabin is very cozy, but it’s the outdoor space that rocks!  We loved the porch, the hot tub, and the swing!

Our rental was perfect for our girls weekend away! It was cozy and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great bonus! The rental was clean as was the surrounding area. Check in and checkout were very easy and instructions with what to do during our stay (trash, expectations for the hot tub, etc) were clear.

It was our first time renting a cottage at Seneca Lake and enjoyed our stay, a quiet few days for a late-October getaway.  The weather this time of year could have been an issue so we were glad it turned out very nice - colors were a little past peak but still very pretty.  It’s a tiny little cottage but for just the two of us retired folks and our 7-year old Chocolate Lab mix, it was fine.  Appreciated the large covered porch and all the nice amenities and details, right down to the goodie bag for our pooch!

Perfect getaway

The cottage was as described. Clean, cozy and nicely decorated. Location was great and very quiet. Views of the lake were amazing. We spent more time on the covered porch than we did in the cottage.

Perfect Getaway

The property was perfect for our family. Boat dock was a plus, and centrally located to the wineries. Would definitely stay again.

Charming little cottage for a Fall Getaway

Our first time rental of this cozy little pet-friendly cottage on a level lakefront lot. My wife & I wanted to try out a Seneca Lake rental and took our chances with a late-October booking. Weather turned out to be beautiful if a bit chilly in the evenings and early mornings. The electric fireplace in the center of the cottage kept us plenty warm. It’s a tiny place but that was just fine for us two retired folks. It seems well built and is very nicely decorated inside with all the needed amenities, along with great out outdoor features — from the lakeside bench swing to the large porch and hot tub. I (Ed) even braved a short trip out on one of the kayaks! The loop around the access road made for scenic 20-minute walks with our dog. We enjoyed our time there in the quiet off-season.

Cozy Cottage

Lovely Cottage right on the lake. Very Cozy. Quiet and peaceful area. The sound of the lake adds a nice ambiance. The owner has added a lot of nice touches to feel like you're at home away from home.

Picture Perfect

The view from this property’s covered deck is unparalleled! The cottage itself is small but adequate for our needs. I think the only time we actually spent inside was to sleep! We ate all our meals outside and pretty much spent every waking minute out there. Great find!

The Trottage was small, but absolutely perfect for our family of 4. We have 2 young boys. We spent 95% of our waking hours outside enjoying the beautiful lake, yard, swing, campfire and spacious covered porch. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboard also. All of us considered this one of our best family vacations.

September 2017 Indian Summer Awesome Stay

The Trottage is a tiny but lovely and peaceful getaway. The view is mindblowing, the flowers and the garden inviting. Kick back and relax is the right quote for this place. No cars, no noise, just nature, water, fresh air and all you need for a reviving vacation. Pepe, our 12 year old half blind Cockapoo enjoyed the fresh clear clean lake and the surroundings and the kajak trips on the lake. Fantastic place. We'll be back!
