Enjoy a first class vacation experience at the recently remodeled Tug Boat Inn. With a stunning view of the lake from the great room on the main floor and only 10 minutes from historic downtown Penn Yan, this beautiful lake home offers a convenient location, central air-conditioning, and upscale, dog friendly accommodations.

The three levels of this cozy cottage provide room to gather together or enjoy a quiet moment on your own. The main entry is on the second floor with only six steps from the parking area for easy loading and unloading. An open landing greets you, providing access to two of the three bedrooms and a full bath, as well as serving as a smart TV entertainment area with a futon for extra sleeping space. One bedroom features a queen bed and a lake view while the other provides a full bed and view to the roadside garden. The third bedroom is located in the newly remodeled lake level suite.

A staircase leads down to a beautiful great room with floor to ceiling views of the lake, providing a half bath, a kitchen, and a large lakeside covered porch. The kitchen features granite countertops, updated appliances, and is open to the living room and the cottage’s second smart TV. Along with bar seating for 3, a dining table for 4 overlooks the lake and lakeside covered porch. The spacious covered porch offers a farm-table to seat 8 as well as rocking chairs to relax in the shade on hot summer days.

Down one level to the lake, a covered patio serves as an entrance to the new lake level bedroom suite. The suite includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom with shower, and a kitchenette with a mini fridge and coffeemaker. The bedroom is steps away from the lake, offering the occupants moonlit vistas and the natural sounds of the lake. From lounging on the patio, guests can step directly onto the grassy lawn which contains lawn chairs for sunning, a fire pit for campfire gatherings, a gas grill, and a set of wide gradual lake steps, making for easy entry into the lake to swim, kayak or play on a variety of water floats.

Tug Boat Inn is close to notable Keuka Lake wineries such as Rooster Hill Vineyards, Keuka Springs Vineyard, McGregor Vineyard, and Ravines Wine Cellars. Also nearby is the Switzerland Inn Restaurant, the charming town of Hammondsport, and the Windmill Farm and Craft Market.

Occupancy: This property is closely monitored for responsible renting. The maximum occupancy of each home is the number of guests allowed on the premises at any given time. This includes both day and overnight guests.

This property was clean with nice finishes, the beds were very comfortable, and they maximized the space well with sleeper sofas. The location provides access to lots of options and overall we found this to be a great property. However, it was smaller than expected and the lower level was only accessible from outside. The stone steps into the water were so slippery they were very dangerous. All in all, we would not recommend this property for young families. The porch on the main floor is incredible! We spent so much time there.

June 2017 Stay

We had a wonderful time at Tug Boat Inn and Keuka Lake. The property was perfect size and setup for us and our two small dogs. Thanks for the bikes too - that was a bonus. We would definitely stay here again. We didn't want to leave.

The property is well decorated and maintained. The bag of goodies from flpp is a nice touch. The parking is a little tight but there is room on the other side of the road to park. Excellent venue!

We had an amazing stay at the Tug Boat Inn. We pretty much spent the entire vacation on the porch (when we weren't out on the water). We do have a few minor things. 1. While the Kitchen was well stocked and worked very nicely the Kitchen Knives were extremely dull. Making it difficult to prepare meals. 2. We did have a minor issue with the dock. I rented a 21' pontoon, not realizing that the boat lift and the angle the dock was placed made it difficult for a boating novice to dock the boat. I did manage it with no damage to the boat or dock, but It might be worth a note somewhere. Otherwise the house was Wonderful and we didn't want to leave even after 2 weeks.

Although a bit smaller then we had expected in person, the property was nicely updated with a strong efficient air conditioning unit, more hot water than you could ever use and a nice big dock with crystal clear water for swimming and enjoying. The excellent sunset views off the beautiful covered porches was an added bonus.

It was a beautiful home. I only don't give it an excellent because there are a lot of stairs and you have to go outside to get to one of the bedrooms. But, all in all, it is a great vacation home.

Kueka Lake
