Old world charm meets modern comfort at the stunning Evergreen Place! This historic home was built in 1884 and was one of the original homesteads on the north end of Owasco Lake. Featuring rare redwood walls, decorative accents, and floors throughout the interior, Evergreen Place offers guests a touch of history while providing all the modern conveniences needed to ensure a one of a kind, memorable vacation experience.
The long, paved driveway leads to the back of the house, with parking for 5 vehicles. The main entry is just off the covered porch, and leads into the spacious, country kitchen with cherry cabinetry and plenty of counter space to prepare meals. To the right is the large master bedroom, with a king size bedroom and private en suite bathroom with a shower. Straight through the kitchen is an oversized dining area, with large windows providing an abundance of natural lighting. Carved wood columns and beams flaunt the entries to the living room and family room areas on the first floor. These rooms offer upscale, comfortable furnishings for lounging and watching TV, while still being able to enjoy the lake views. A door off the family room leads to the wrap around, covered front porch, where guests can enjoy the peaceful serenity of Owasco Lake life in comfort and style.
The staircase in the main living area leads up to the second floor living area. A landing area at the top leads directly into an oversized bedroom, with a queen bed, cathedral ceilings, a wood burning fireplace, and walk through access to an additional bedroom/sleeping area with a queen bed and full bathroom with a shower. For families with infants or small children, this bedroom suite has plenty of space to set up a crib or a pack and play.
To the left of the landing, facing the lake, is another family room, featuring comfortable furniture for lounging or just a quiet retreat to read a book. French doors lead outside to the covered balcony overlooking the front yard and lake. Further down the hallway is another bedroom suite, with a queen size bed and walk through access to an additional bedroom/sleeping area with a bunk bed, ideal for families with children. An additional full bathroom is accessed off the hall for this bedroom suite.
For guests looking to have additional piece and privacy during their stay, there is a full guest suite on the second floor on the east side of the house. With a private staircase leading up from the parking area, this spacious guest suite features an open floor plan, with a queen bed and twin trundle bed, as well as a full bathroom with a shower and a small galley kitchen.
Evergreen Place features excellent outdoor living space! A large level yard in front and behind the house offers plenty of space for children to place and outdoor games. A patio with a propane grill situated off the side of the house provides space for outdoor dining and meal preparation, and the lakeside porches plenty of shade for enjoying the view during the hot summer months. Just across the street from the house is 150 feet of lakefront, with a seasonal dock and 2 kayaks for guests' enjoyment.
A short walk down the street leads right to spectacular Emerson Park, a 135 acre lakefront park with spacious lawns, bathing beaches, historic buildings, a boat launch, marina and non motorized watercraft rental business, theater and host to a large number of events each month.
